Due to the lack of obstetrical physician coverage, Cape Regional Medical Center recently announced that they will be unable to provide maternity services, effective September 15, 2022. Cape OB/GYN Associates is actively making arrangements to ensure your continuity of care. For patients who are pregnant, this may impact your delivery hospital, but does not impact our team’s continued focus on you.
As of September 16, 2022, Dr. Richard Michnerwill continue to provide gynecological services at our current Cape OB/GYN location, including addressing annual wellness visits, gynecological concerns, breast and pelvic health care, and family planning services. Dr. Joseph Milio will be transitioning to provide gynecological and obstetrical care at Oceanside OB/GYN, beginning on October 3, 2022.
As a physician with Oceanside OB/GYN, Dr. Joseph Milio will support deliveries at Shore Medical Center in Somers Point, which offers a Level II NICU. Oceanside OB/GYN can also accommodate deliveries at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Galloway. Our pregnant patients have the option to transition their care to Oceanside OB/GYN or another practice of their choice. Please visit ShoreMedicalCenter.org or Atlanicare.org to learn more about both hospitals and take a virtual tour.
If you are currently pregnant, please read below carefully: In preparation for this change, pregnant patients who are due after September 15 should expect to partner with us in the coming weeks to transition their care. It is our goal to ensure all care continues seamlessly. Our team has already established expectations with Shore Medical Center and AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, and they are ready and willing to accept our patient deliveries. If you choose to transition your care to Oceanside OB/GYN, you do NOT need to take action with your medical records, as they are within our Axia Women’s Health network. If you select to transfer to another practice, we have resources to assist in transferring your medical records to the practice of your choice.

Patients who are due close to or after September 15 will be able to speak with our clinical team at their next pregnancy care visit regarding their options and plan for transfer of care. Your pregnancy remains a priority for us, and we wish to ensure a smooth transfer of care for you and your baby.
Thank you for your trust and confidence in our team. We look forward to continuing to provide expert gynecological, breast, and pelvic health care moving forward, and will work with all expecting mothers to ensure a seamless transition of care in the coming weeks.
Sincerely yours,
Your Care Team Cape OB/GYN Associates
